It's been a chaotic few weeks full of late nights and long weekends. ProMart 3.0 is no small update. We have completely rebuilt the front end shop system so that we no longer have to rely on other components and can easily apply security updates going forwards. I know all our clients are eagerly awaiting their new sites so thought it would be prudent to give a quick update.
It feels like yesterday that we were wishing all a Happy New Year for 2016. And what a year it was. Many highs and lows. ProMart continues to grow in user base and we are now moving closer to a 100% standalone solution. We hope to have ProMart 3.0 completely released by the end of February 2017 and all current users migrated into new templates (if they require them) by the end of March 2017.
We have added a lot of new features in the past 12 months...
Just a quick post to say thank you to all our clients for your new and continuing business in 2016. Last year saw the first release of ProMart 2.0 to the promotional merchandise industry in the UK. We have taken on over 10 new sites in 2015 with over 35 brand new ProMart users. We currently run 4 ProMart 2.0 Servers on Amazon Web Services!
Our goal for 2016 is 100+ users. January is fully booked for site builds and new integrations are on the way. Including new Google E-commerce transaction tracking modules and Xero accounts software integration planned before April 2015.
1. Mobile Friendly Responsive Design
On April 21st 2015 Google announced that they would boost mobile friendly websites in search results to mobile users. This means that you should really be providing a more mobile friendly website.
2. Fast Accurate Search with No Page Refresh
Having a fast ‘search as you type function’ allows an end user to refine search results without refreshing the page. This allows the end user to find information faster and hold their attention longer. Remember more than 3 clicks to find information is the rule.
In 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began offering IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now commonly known as cloud computing. One of the key benefits of cloud computing is the opportunity to replace up-front capital infrastructure expenses with low variable costs that scale with your business. With the Cloud, businesses no longer need to plan for and procure servers and other IT infrastructure weeks or months in advance. Instead, they can instantly spin up hundreds or thousands of servers in minutes and deliver results faster.
Yes we have moved! We looked at a few serviced offices and most of them were missing one thing or another. Be it slow internet or tiny spaces. Last Tuesday we visited Kent Science Park and found an office that fitted our needs perfectly. Enough room for myself and Alex with room to add 2 more people when the need arises. By Thursday afternoon we were all moved in.
However the tenancy terms and conditions state that we cannot "research any human cloning" so any new people will look different to us.
